Mistakes To Avoid When Ordering A Custom Pizza

Blog

More and more, pizza shops have begun allowing customers to customize their pizzas. Not only can you add whatever toppings you prefer, but you can often also choose from several sauces, cheeses, and crust styles. It can be so fun to create a pizza made with all of your favorite ingredients. However, there are a few mistakes you'll want to avoid when placing an order.

Mistake #1: Adding too many toppings.

It's so easy to get carried away when adding toppings to your pizza. You may be tempted to just keep piling them on, figuring more flavors are better than a few. However, if you overload the pizza with too many toppings, a couple of things will happen. First, the pizza crust may not support the toppings while you eat it, causing you to have to eat with a knife and fork. This isn't the worst thing in the world, but it's annoying to have toppings sliding off. Second, too many toppings can make the pizza crust soggy. This is especially the case with moist toppings, such as mushrooms and eggplant. Try to stick to three or four toppings, at most; you may be able to add another if none of your toppings are moist.

Mistake #2: Failing to Consider How a Specialty Sauce With Blend With Your Toppings

Classic tomato sauce happens to pair well with lots of different pizza toppings. As such, when customizing pizzas with tomato sauce, you're probably not used to considering whether your sauce and toppings pair together well. This is something to consider if you order a specialty sauce, such as garlic cream sauce or pesto. Not all toppings will taste good with these sauces, so make sure you take the sauce into account when selecting things to put on top of your pizza.

Mistake #3: Not Asking for Recommendations

If you're feeling overwhelmed at a custom pizza place and you don't know what to order, don't just wing it. Ask the server or the person behind the counter for recommendations! Chances are, they've not only tried many of the restaurant's pizza options, but they've also seen what customers have ordered, liked, and not liked. There are likely a few customer favorites they can recommend you try.

When ordering custom pizza, make sure you go easy on the toppings, consider the sauce, and ask for recommendations as needed. Something delicious waits just around the bend.

How to Save Money When Eating Out

Welcome to my website. My name is Joanne Taylor. My family and I love eating out at restaurants, but with there being five of us, it can get expensive. In order to be able to continue to indulge in the luxury of eating at restaurants, my husband and I have come up with ways to order and save money. We always thought that ordering kids meals for young children was the cheapest way to go. But we found in many cases, it’s less expensive to order one regular meal and let our two youngest children split it. We make use of coupons whenever possible, restaurant daily specials, early bird specials, and other money savers. I’m going to share some of the ways we’ve been creative in the hope that you will find some useful tips.
