Tips For Having A Large Event Catered With Barbecue Food

Blog

Barbecue food appeals to the masses, stays delicious even as it sits, and makes for excellent leftovers. For these reasons and others, it is a great cuisine choice for a large event, such as a block party or graduation party. However, there are a few tips you'll want to follow when having a large event catered with barbecue food.

Order more than one type of meat.

Often, barbecue restaurants will give you the best price if you order a large quantity of just one meat. But in most cases, it is worth paying a little more to get two or three meat options. Some people may not eat a specific meat for dietary or religious reasons. For example, some of your guests may eat a kosher diet, and therefore may not eat pork. Others may avoid beef. If you have at least two meat choices, then you'll have more happy guests.

Ask for the sauce on the side.

Most barbecue catering companies do this anyways, but it's worth asking to be certain. You want the sauces on the side so that the meats do not lose their crispy exterior and skin as they sit. This way, you won't have to worry if your party runs a little behind schedule and you don't end up eating on-time as planned. Also, guests will appreciate being able to sauce their meat to their own preferences.

Pick some vegetarian sides.

You may have a few vegetarians at your party. You may also have some guests who simply prefer not to eat meat on this occasion. You can make sure these guests are fed by choosing vegetarian sides. Instead of pork and beans, go with corn on the cob. Instead of mac and cheese with bacon, choose mashed potatoes. Corn bread is another go-to! Try to pick an assortment of side that could be put together to form a basic meal, if needed.

Order wet wipes.

Ask your BBQ catering service if they bring wet wipes with the food. Some automatically do this, and others will bring them on request, sometimes for a small extra fee. They are worth paying for. They'll give guests an easy way to clean up their hands after eating so that not everyone is headed for the bathroom at once.

If you follow the advice above when ordering barbecue food for your big party, you'll have plenty of party guests with smiles on their faces.

How to Save Money When Eating Out

Welcome to my website. My name is Joanne Taylor. My family and I love eating out at restaurants, but with there being five of us, it can get expensive. In order to be able to continue to indulge in the luxury of eating at restaurants, my husband and I have come up with ways to order and save money. We always thought that ordering kids meals for young children was the cheapest way to go. But we found in many cases, it’s less expensive to order one regular meal and let our two youngest children split it. We make use of coupons whenever possible, restaurant daily specials, early bird specials, and other money savers. I’m going to share some of the ways we’ve been creative in the hope that you will find some useful tips.
