Four Things To Remember When Having Pizza Delivered To Your Home

Blog

Before you place your next order for pizza delivery, you should take the time to read the following information, so that you will avoid unnecessary frustration with the delivery process:

Pizzas are made to order

Pizzas need time for preparation and baking. The delivery of the food is the last step. Everything that happens prior to the delivery will take a longer amount of time. Restaurants can also get backed up on the weekends and holidays, especially if there is a big sporting event on television. Sometimes restaurants will tell you how long the wait will be, but if not, you should ask, so you will know what to expect. If this is the first time you have ordered pizza from a specific pizzeria, you should always ask.

Be patient with the delivery person

If this is your first time ordering pizza with a particular restaurant, it may take a little extra time finding your apartment. This is can be true even if others in your apartment complex have ordered from the same pizza restaurant before. The layout of apartment complexes can be confusing, and it may take a few minutes longer for a delivery person to get the pizza to you.

You should always tip

Pizza delivery persons are paid low wages. Because they are often placed in the category of the waiting staff, such as a waiter or waitress, they can be paid a lower hourly wage that the federal minimum wage. But just like a food server in a restaurant, they make most of their money from tips. For this reason alone, you should make sure that you give them something extra for the effort. When you tip, keep in mind, that it is the delivery itself that you are tipping, not the taste of the pizza or the person you spoke to on the phone that took your order. Your tip should be the same as you would tip a waiter or waitress who is bringing you your food at a restaurant.

Have your money ready

Avoid making a delivery person wait for you. After you order the pizza, get your money ready, including the tip. Making them wait is rude, and it also costs them money because they are mostly working for tips. If by chance, you are distracted by something and do not have the money ready, let the pizza person step into your home. If it is raining or cold outside, they will appreciate it.

If you can remember the four things above the next time you order pizza for delivery, you will appreciate the delivery person more and understand the delivery process better.

How to Save Money When Eating Out

Welcome to my website. My name is Joanne Taylor. My family and I love eating out at restaurants, but with there being five of us, it can get expensive. In order to be able to continue to indulge in the luxury of eating at restaurants, my husband and I have come up with ways to order and save money. We always thought that ordering kids meals for young children was the cheapest way to go. But we found in many cases, it’s less expensive to order one regular meal and let our two youngest children split it. We make use of coupons whenever possible, restaurant daily specials, early bird specials, and other money savers. I’m going to share some of the ways we’ve been creative in the hope that you will find some useful tips.
